Wuhan!!

Sensational Wuhan, I'm sad we just stayed there one night because the little I saw there was simply spectacular!!
Wuhan sensacional, me da pena que sólo estuvimos allí una noche porque lo que ví fue simplemente espectacular!!

Before leaving Jingzhou to go to Wuhan, we stopped for lunch and this was the lamp in the restaurant lobby, different and lovely too!!
Antes de partir de Jingzhou e ir a Wuhan, paramos a almorzar y ésta fue la lámpara en la entrada del restaurante, diferente y preciosa también!!
 

Believe it or not this is an incense burner you find in some toilets!! This one was in the toilets of the restaurant. 

Lo crean o no éste es un quemador de incienso que se encuentran en algunos baños!! Este estaba en los baños del restaurante. 

The picture says it, public toilets!! And in this place all of them were squat toilets, the most common ones in China!!
La foto lo dice, baños públicos!! Y en éste lugar todos eran sanitarios de acuclillarse, los más comunes en China!! 

After arriving to Wuhan, we went to another restaurant for dinner. These are revolving "things" outside the restaurant. And yes, I "revolved" them!!
Luego de llegar a Wuhan, fuimos a otro restaurante a cenar. Estas son "cosas" que giran fuera del restaurante. Y sí, los puse a girar!!
 

The hotels during the tour were very good and my room in the one in Wuhan had a magnificent view!!
Los hoteles durante el tour fueron muy buenos y mi cuarto en el de Wuhan tenía una magnífica vista!!

The following ones are very similar, but as I didn't have a balcony to go out, took them from inside the bedroom!! All of them are from my little camera!!
Las que siguen son muy similares, pero como no tenía balcón para salir, las tomé desde dentro de la habitación!! Todas son con mi cámara pequeña!!

But after a little while I decided to go out and enjoy the views from the river walk.
Pero luego de un rato decidí salir y disfrutar las vistas desde el paseo del río.

Tortoise Mountain TV tower, China's first self-developed TV tower, opened in 1986.
La torre de televisión de la montaña Tortuga, la primera torre de televisión desarrollada enteramente en China, comenzó operaciones en 1986.

Qingchuan Pavilion, beautifully adorned and the best thing, just besides the hotel!!
El Pabellón Qingchuan, hermosamente adornado y lo mejor, justo al lado del hotel!!

This beautiful Ming Dynasty pavilion is located on the banks of the Yangtze river.
Este hermoso pabellón de la Dinastía Ming se encuentra en las orillas del río Yangtsé.

These ones are from the other side of the river, and with my other camera.
Estas son del otro lado del río, y con mi otra cámara.

 

Originally constructed in the 16th century, the pavilion has been destroyed but rebuilt many times during its history.
Originalmente construído en el siglo 16, el pabellón ha sido destruído pero reconstruído muchas veces durante su historia.

Modernity and history graciously mixed!!
Lo moderno e histórico combinado hermosamente!!

The most recent renovation occurred in 1983, when it was rebuilt according to the architectural concepts of its time, but of course, reinforced with modern materials!!
La renovación más reciente ocurrió en 1983, cuando fue reconstruído de acuerdo con los conceptos arquitectónicos de su época, pero por supuesto, reforzado con materiales modernos!!

And something I didn't know at that moment is that visitors can use it as a platform to take wonderful pictures of the surrounding scenarios, but I never set foot in it!!
Y algo que no sabía en ese momento es que los visitantes pueden usarlo como plataforma para tomar fotos maravillosas de los alrededores, pero yo nunca puse un pie en él!!
 

And as I didn't go in, I can only imagine how it looks inside when the outside is so spectacular!!
Y como no entré, sólo puedo imaginarme cómo luce adentro cuando su exterior es tan espectacular!!

The following day, after a good night sleep and a great breakfast (breakfasts were normally very good during the whole tour!!), we went to take the high-speed train to Shanghai. Can you "notice" the speed?
Al día siguiente, luego de pasar una buena noche y un grandioso desayuno (los desayunos fueron normalmente muy buenos durante todo el tour!!), nos fuimos a tomar el tren de alta velocidad a Shanghai. Pueden "notar" la velocidad?

During one of the stops, ran to the front to take the picture!!
Durante una de las paradas, corrí al frente para tomar la foto!!

It reached 248 km/h but I wasn't fast enough to take my camera out!! You cannot feel it inside the train but when another is coming in the opposite direction, for sure you can!!
Alcanzó los 248 km/h pero yo no fuí lo suficientemente rápida en sacar mi cámara!! No se siente dentro del tren pero cuando viene otro en sentido contrario, seguro que se siente!!

Jingzhou ancient city wall. - La antigua muralla citadina de Jingzhou.

Between China's seven ancient city walls, the one in Jingzhou is rated as the second best, and the largest and best preserved compared with other famous city walls.
Entre las siete murallas antiguas citadinas de China, la de Jingzhou está catalogada como la segunda mejor, y la más larga y mejor preservada comparada con otras famosas murallas citadinas.  

Not only a historical place, a famous and beautiful scenic area as well!!
No sólo un lugar histórico, un área con escenarios hermosos y famosos también!!

A place where enjoyment is a part of it, with all the greenery and surrounding lakes!!

Despite this place has many outstanding man-made features, it also has an admirable natural beauty!!

The statue of Qu Yuan, a famous poet of the Warring states period. His death is commemorated by the annual Dragon boat festival.

Originally a military defense facility is now a cultural relic, telling people the long history it has experienced.

A lot of history for everyone to enjoy!!

It has more than 2.000 years of history, destroyed but repaired multiple times due to the wars during Song, Yuan and Ming Dinasties.
Tiene más de 2.000 años de historia, destruida pero reparada múltiples veces debido a las guerras durante las Dinastías Song, Yuan y Ming.

The wall has six gates, each with a tower and each varying in size.
La muralla tiene seis puertas, cada una con su torre y cada una en diferentes tamaños.

If I remember well, these bronze statues are from some emperors, but can't remember which ones!!
Si mal no recuerdo, éstas estatuas de bronce son de unos emperadores, pero no recuerdo cuáles!!

A beautiful and antique lamp. Look at all the amazing details, making it so unique!!

The wall was mainly built with bricks and stones at the bottom. Curios fact: The gaps between the bricks were filled with a sticky rice substance that hardened with time and provided a firm substitute to the cement that we are now so familiar with!!
La muralla fue construida principalmente con ladrillos y piedras en el fondo. Dato curioso: Las ranuras entre los ladrillos las llenaron con una substancia de arroz pegotudo que se endurecía con el tiempo y proveía un substituto bastante firme al cemento con el que estamos ahora bastante familiarizados!!

This is the Binyang Tower at the East gate, or Yinbin gate.
Esta es la Torre Binyang en la puerta este, o puerta Yinbin.
 

Built during the Ming Dinasty, the Yinbin gate was used for welcoming representatives of the Imperial Court and other important visitors, and that's why the Binyang Tower is the grandest and largest!!
Construida durante la Dinastía Ming, la puerta Yinbin se usó para dar la bienvenida a representantes de la Corte Imperial y otros visitantes importantes, de ahí que la torre Binyang sea la más grande y la más larga!!

Jingzhou is one of the most important cultural centers in the country, no doubt why!!
Jingzhou es uno de los centros culturales más importantes del país, no hay duda del por qué!!

Towers aren't build to be habitable but to serve other functions, in this case, mainly for military defensive purposes.
Las torres no son construidas para ser habitables pero para servir otras funciones, en éste caso, principalmente con propósitos de defensa militar.

The left side was for carts and horses!!

Didn't see too many Fall colors, but the ones I saw were gorgeous!!

And as an interesting fact, did you know that China has the biggest and tallest sculptures in the world?

Qu Yuan is known as the first author of verse in China who has his name associated to his work, because prior to that time, poetic works were not attributed to any specific authors.
Qu Yuan es conocido como el primer autor de versos en China que tiene su nombre asociado a su trabajo, porque antes de ese momento, los trabajos poéticos no eran atribuidos a ningún autor específico.

Want something? Not really, thank you!! A general advice, don't buy/eat anything from street vendors or you'll be running to the toilet later!! Fortunately, I didn't.
Quiere algo? No, gracias!! Un consejo general, no compre/coma nada de vendedores callejeros o estará corriendo al baño más tarde!! Afortunadamente, no fue mi caso.
 

Considered the first great patriotic poet in the history of China's literature, he's view as the only person in Chinese history who is fulled entitled to be called "The people's poet."

Yes, you can see people fishing in the Yangtze river waters in front of the city wall of Jingzhou!!
Si, se puede ver gente pescando en las aguas del río Yangtsé en frente a la muralla citadina de Jingzhou!!
  

And even not huge, they fish plenty of them!!
Y aunque no muy grandes, pescan bastantes!!

After here we went for lunch and left Jingzhou, and went to Wuhan, but you'll see that pictures in the next post!!
